My name is Lionel Mindin.  I am a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  While in the graduate program I received numerous awards/recognitions, including the Dean’s Award for Creative Excellence.  I have used my artistic talents as a production potter, sculptor and a custom-design jeweler.

I have taught ceramics at Nicolet High School in Glendale, Wisconsin as well as at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (craft center).  During my years as a production potter, I have built kilns for Raku, salt and cone ten reduction firing.  I have owned and operated a retail custom design jewelry store as well as a gallery, both featuring my work.   Currently, I am working to establish a  full service clay company that will feature a school and studio as well as furnish supplies to schools, potters, students and anyone else interested in ceramics.

Ceramics is a creative focus for me.  I thoroughly enjoy the process from beginning to end, including the many challenges.  The satisfaction of seeing a mound of clay transformed into a work of art, to open a kiln and see a glaze that has worked beyond your expectations or to research and experiment with clays and glazes hour after hour and finally achieve the result you imagined, is beyond gratifying.

Creative Clay Company represents some of the finest pieces I have created and offers them to those who truly appreciate being surrounded by fine quality artwork.
